The importation of some species of plants is prohibited. Plant and plant products from several countries and regions are also prohibited, whether importation is direct or transit through a second country. Specific conditions for the importation of plants or plant products are listed on the Plant Import Permit, which is issued within 72 hours after submitting a completed application. Application forms or additional information may be obtained from the Animal & Plant Inspection Services of the Department of Agriculture.
